Communication Intervention with a Difference

Online groups for parents of children aged 1-5 years with autism or social communication differences. Developed by the Hanen Centre in Toronto, backed by quality research. These groups may only be presented by speech therapists certified by the Hanen Center and we currently offer the only online groups in South Africa according to the Hanen website.

Through this course you will learn how to:

- understand your child's communication stage

- set unique communication goals for your child

- use specific strategies during play, everyday routines, while reading books, etc. to develop their skills

- improve social communication, back-and-forth interaction and imitation skills

- use what motivates your child to develop their communication skills

- help your child interact with peers

Pre-Program Consultation

Where the therapist meets you and your child and the communication stage is determined, initial goals are set.

Parent Group Training Sessions

8 X SESSIONS

FRIDAYS 13:30-16:00

Learn about the strategies to use in a fun, interactive manner. These online groups are for parents and don't require your child present.

Individual Video-Feedback Sessions

3x ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS, TO BE INDIVIDUALLY BOOKED

45-60 MINS

The therapist video-records you and your child during interaction at home during these live session to identify strengths in the strategy used and provide support or ideas where needed.
